This week feels like raspberries and Fleetwood Mac
A quiet moment in a loud summer, purse charms, and my tomato obsession.
It feels like summer is flying by and I can’t quite keep up. Every week seems to be faster than the last. The moments I crave are slow mornings, lazy afternoons, family dinners that stretch on just a little too long… But they are feeling harder to come by at the moment.
This past weekend was a rare pause in the chaos. We had a few family days strung together, and for the first time in weeks, I felt like I could exhale. It made me wish every weekend could be a long weekend.
On the food front, I’ve been trying (and admittedly struggling) to stick to an anti-inflammatory diet. Some days feel like wins, others… not so much. But I’m leaning on the idea that progress isn’t linear, and every small step still counts.
Maybe next week will feel a little more grounded, a little more aligned. For now, I’m choosing to notice the good moments and letting myself rest when I need to without the guilt.
I’m keeping this intro a little short this week because I’m deep in an introspective phase at the moment. Let’s dive into some recipes, shall we?
what’s new
Here’s what you might have missed on the blog!
Homemade pistachio pesto is a bright and nutty twist on the classic recipe that’s quick and fresh!
This green tea vodka cocktail is light and refreshing. I love a way to enjoy tea on a hot summer day without having it be hot.
I’m back on my pasta salad game! This time? Pesto chicken pasta salad is fresh and vibrant!

ice cream drinks
A Baileys Coffee Milkshake is a combination of a dessert, after-dinner drink, and after-dinner coffee all in one glorious, cold and creamy milkshake.
Chocolate Martini with Caramel
Chocolate martinis are a delicious cocktail twist on a chocolate milkshake. In this chocolate martini, caramel vodka, chocolate liqueur, coffee liqueur, and vanilla ice cream combine for a decadent and creamy dessert cocktail.
Your favorite soda shop treat gets a grown-up twist in this coffee-forward Kahlua Coke Float. Coffee ice cream adds creamy fizz to a smooth mix of cola, coffee and coffee liqueur. Try it with vanilla or chocolate ice cream for a different but equally delicious spin.
A Purple Cow Float is the float of my childhood dreams! I love grape soda, and mixed with vanilla ice cream, makes for a decadent treat! Add some vodka and make it for adults, too!!
what to cook this week
jamaican jerk chicken sliders with mango salsa
If summer has a soundtrack, these sliders are playing in the background. They’re smoky, spicy, juicy, and made for easy dinners on the patio. Add some slaw and a cold drink! Get the recipe here →
what I’m reading
I finished Sunrise on the Reaping and, as expected, my heart broke into tiny pieces. It’s one of those books I had to set down multiple times just to process. It took me about 3 days to read the last chapter because I didn’t want to get to the end. Ooph.
Now I’m in palette cleanser mode after two massive Sanderson books and that emotional ride. I started Blood of Hercules, and I’m loving the FMC so far - even though everyone seems obsessed with her, and I have no idea where this is going. Also: I desperately want an invisible poisonous snake to bond with me. Why is that not an option?
The clock’s ticking, though… I have three days to finish before my library loan ends with 8 hours left on the timer. Wish me luck.
Next up: On Our Best Behavior is waiting on my nightstand.
what I’m watching
We finished Squid Game, and wow… just wow. It was everything and more, and I’m already sad it’s over. There’s talk of a US version, but let’s be honest: I doubt it’ll have the same magic.
I also binged Landman in one breathless week, and it surprised me how much I enjoyed it. Not sure what’s next on the queue - I’m taking suggestions if you’ve got them.
the little list
🎵 Listening to: Everywhere by Fleetwood Mac. For me, this song is happiness bottled into a song.
🍅 Craving: Tomatoes in all forms, and counting down the days until peach season so I can pair them.
🍒 Current obsession: My new cherry purse charm. It’s giving charm bracelet nostalgia and I’m here for the trend. But Labubu? Absolutely not. I draw the line here.
😂 Little joy: Our son’s new habit of blowing raspberries back at us. Every single time, we dissolve into laughter.
🧘♀️ Hoping for: Stability. This week is full of friends and plans, but next week… I’m manifesting slower, quieter days that feel more aligned with the way I want to eat and live.
xoxo,
Meghan
mmmmm i’m thinking a ricotta gnocchi to pair with that pistachio pesto
