game day recipes with a Swiftie spin
Because game day just got a whole lot more exciting, didn't it?
It’s no secret that I’m a Taylor Swift fan. And just because she is going to be in Japan (at least from what I’ve heard thus far) for the big game this weekend, doesn’t mean we can’t all enjoy football a little bit more since we know Taylor’s got a stake in the game too.
If you have been around here for a while, you know that I used to be in a fantasy football league (which I WON one year), but I am not the biggest football fan. I’ve tried over the years, but the truth is I’m just not that into it.
I am into the food. I used to have a friend who would host every Broncos game day with so so so much good food. All the stuff I would crave from queso to chili and more. I would show up in a jersey and stuff my face happily. It was the only reason I ever knew the score of the Broncos game the next day.
There’s just so many recipes to choose from when it comes to football food. I’m rounding up my favorites at the end of this newsletter, with a couple notable callouts for Swiftie fans that want to have that element at their Super Bowl party.
I still have no idea what we are doing for the Super Bowl, but you can bet I’ll be eating my heart out even if we don’t watch (though I feel like, as a millennial, I need to watch the Usher halftime show…).
Let’s get into the good stuff!
what’s new
Here’s what you might have missed on the blog in the last week:
A tart and tangy passion fruit margarita is just the tropical drink for the dead of winter! I wish I was on a beach somewhere drinking it right now.
The February produce guide is up with tons of seasonal recipe recommendations too!
Having people over for dinner on game day? Make a whole smoked chicken! You can even make a few at a time if you are serving a crowd.

The bulk of this newsletter is dedicated to game day food. Sorry. But I’m really not sorry at all.
reader favorites
Below are the reader favorites from this football season!
Crispy Korean BBQ Wings - hands down, these are a reader favorite year after year! You can grill them or bake them in the oven.
Roast Beef Sliders - made with caramelized onions and served with au jus for dipping.
Crab Rangoon Dip - I serve this cheesy crab dip with homemade wonton chips!
Spinach and Artichoke Goat Cheese Dip - The goat cheese really makes this spinach and artichoke dip stand out.
Jalapeño Cream Cheese Wontons - they taste like a jalapeño popper in a crunchy fried shell!
Chili Lime Margarita - just enough heat to spice things up.
Texas Margarita - one secret ingredient makes this margarita one of our favorites!
Manhattan Punch - if you love a boozy drink, but don’t want to be stuck bartending all night, make this big batch cocktail!
Mini Chocolate Chip Cookies - soft, chewy, and easy to make ahead.
No-Bake Cookie Dough Bites - Don’t feel like baking? Make these edible cookie dough bites instead!

Want to bring a Taylor Swift element to Super Bowl Sunday?
Rumor has it that Taylor Swift is a fan of an Aperol Spritz, mojitos, and old fashioned. So I’m pretty sure she’d love any of these cocktails:
She always has hummus in her fridge, so a creamy Greek hummus served with your favorite dippers is a must.
I also found out her favorite food is chicken tenders. While you could always make some of those, I feel like she would approve of some sticky, sweet, and spicy wings, right?
Speaking of sweet things, our gal loves to bake! She talked about how she loved Chai Eggnog Cookies, so I have to imagine she would like my chai snickerdoodles too.
Enjoy game day! I’ll have a new recipe coming out before the weekend for the newsletter only later this week so keep an eye on your inbox…
Until next time!
xoxo,
Meghan
