It’s St. Patrick’s Day weekend! Are you celebrating?
Back in the day, I used to go hard on St. Patrick’s Day. It was an excuse to be childish and loud, boisterous and fun, while also eating and drinking whatever I wanted.
No, I did not drink green beer. Because, ick.
So, while I’m on this train of thought, let me introduce you to a new St. Patty’s Day drink! It’s green, it’s mean, and it’s anything but lean ;)
This boozy green shamrock shake is everything you know and love about the classic McDonald’s treat, with an Irish whiskey twist that makes it grownup friendly.
Step aside children, St. Patrick’s Day is an adult holiday – not suitable for the young & impressionable.
If you realllllly wanted to spoil an under 21-year-old on St. Patty’s, I suppose you could omit the booze and use a little mint extract and green food coloring to get the same drink… But then you also have a kiddo that’s hyped up on sugar… So, it’s really up to you and your bandwidth, hahaha.
Plus I’m adding a little video below with how I like to decorate mine!
I know it might seem kind of silly to make a shake like this for the weekend, but honestly, I’ve been giving into the silly a lot more recently.
With all of the challenges that come with life, from being a parent to owning my own business, trying to get enough sleep to emotionally surviving the turmoil in our world… we need a little extra silly.
Take a moment to enjoy this boozy shamrock shake with it’s creamy texture and minty finish. Plus extra whipped cream on top with sprinkles, just because.
And I’ve got you covered with a bunch of Irish whiskey cocktails too!
